Locations announced for annual rabies clinic Saturday
The annual Franklin County Rabies Clinic will be held May 13 at various locations around the county.
Each year, Lavonia Animal Hospital, Royston Animal Hospital and Tugaloo Animal Hospital give of their time and resources to provide citizens with a substantially discounted rabies vaccination in locations that make it easier for them to have their animals vaccinated.
“These clinics play a vital role in getting as many pets protected against the deadly rabies virus,” Franklin County Environmental Health Manager Louis Korff said. “We are a very rural county and as such there are wild carnivores everywhere, to include in-city neighborhoods.”
As part of the clinic, Dr. April Steele will vaccinate pets at the health department in Carnesville at 1:30 p.m., at New Franklin Church at 2:45 p.m. and at Canon Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m.
Dr. Patrick Hitchcock will be stationed at Line Community Center at 1 p.m., Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. and the Red Hill Ballfield at 3:30 p.m.
Dr. Doris Cato will give shots at Deason’s Farm and Garden in Royston at 12:30 p.m., Sandy Creek Community Center at 2 p.m. and Double Churches Fire Station at 3:30 p.m.
